Attorney John B. Kennelly has a decade of experience representing clients from the courtroom to the boardroom. Before beginning Kennelly & Associates, Attorney Kennelly was a senior associate at the firm of Updike, Kelly & Spellacy where he practiced professional malpractice defense of design and construction professionals. In this capacity, he regularly represented clients in multimillion-dollar litigation, including trials.

His corporate representation included securing governmental assistance for business start ups, operating agreements, contract negotiations, land use permitting and business expansion. Mr. Kennelly regularly interacts with municipal, state and federal authorities on behalf of the Firm's clients.

He is the recipient of a Construction Management Certificate from the University of Hartford Construction Institute. Mr. Kennelly has also conducted seminars concerning the intellectual property of design documents generated in house.

Attorney Kennelly received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University.

Between 2001 and 2004, Mr. Kennelly served on the Hartford Court of Common Council where he chaired Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee, co-chaired the committee on Parks and Public Works and was a member of the Planning and Economic Development Committee. He presently serves on the Hartford Democratic Town Committee.

Attorney Kennelly has played a prominent role in local, state and federal elections and referendums for many years. He is often asked to speak to municipalities regarding changes to municipal government structures. This is due to his leadership role in reinventing and reforming the government in Hartford, Connecticut.
